To educate, inform, support, stimulate, strengthen and assist growth of our membership and the business community at large. The Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce advocates:

• Integrity in business and works in harmony with local, state and national groups for the development of its members. We will endeavor to provide a united voice for the Houghton Lake business community at large by seeking consensus on business issues in all of our efforts to support business growth and development. 
• Through the payment of membership dues, you help the Chamber pursue it’s goals to promote tourism and retail opportunities and provide a wide spectrum of information and services for residents, travelers, new comers, community agencies, organizations and the community as a whole.

The primary functions of the Chamber of Commerce are:

• Representing the members of the Chamber, their business and their views.
• Representing the professional community as a whole and providing services to them.
• To assist in the growth of this community and it’s development.
• Counseling from the Michigan Small Business Development Center.
